Regional and Remote Area
Product Support:
The senior technician of Photronics is a Light
Aircraft pilot with a Commercial, Multi-Engine Command Instrument Licence
and Rating. This facility is used to supplement field service and
also gives Photronics the ability to service or repair equipment in remote
locations that are at times isolated from road access due to disrepair
or local flooding.
Photronics personnel regularly travel to regional
hospitals in Queensland and Northern New South Wales, to provide preventive
maintenance service support. Travelling to these areas gives Photronics
the capacity to support the products of other manufacturers and/or suppliers.
Costs of travel and accommodation are shared among all, to reduce the overall
costs. In the past, technicians have been utilised in the support
of specific products within most Australian mainland states.
With respect to medical imaging, Photronics places
special emphasis on the training / retraining of local operators and maintenance
personnel, in the basic care and maintenance of the equipment so supported.
Rapid Response Times:
If needed, breakdown service may be provided
to any location accessible by road vehicle, or even faster by air, if a
suitable Landing Area is available.
International Service:
Photronics personnel have, in the past, provided
service to equipment in Countries bordering Australia. This concept
may be expanded as Photronics is able to offer expertise in the logistics
of supporting products in relatively isolated communities.
Electrical, Electronic Certification:
Photronics Pty. Ltd. is a Queensland Licenced Electrical Contractor-Repairer. The Electrical Licensing Board of Queensland
certifies Photronics technicians for service of electrical equipment. Photronics technicians are formally trained in the service of electronic
components integrated into such Equipment.
Equipment Specific Training
and Product Support:
It is a Photronics Company policy to only undertake
major service commitments with the knowledge and support of the manufacturer.
Often this support includes access to replacement parts, service manuals,
specialised tools and technical information.
Where it is viable and necessary, the manufacturers'
training facilities are utilised. Such training has been undertaken
in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, USA, Germany and Belgium.

Manufacturing and Workshop
Services:
Photronics operates a major workshop in Logan
City. At this location the company conducts minor manufacturing of
specialist parts and electronic circuit boards for dedicated applications.
Also at this location the company further attends to equipment requiring
major overhaul and service. The facility has the capacity for expansion
to support larger projects.
Goals:
Photronics seeks other products to support
in service. One area being investigated is alternative energy systems
as may be suitable in regional or isolated applications.
Conclusion:
This Company has traded successfully in Logan
City since its Incorporation in 1984. Prior to then it traded as
a partnership from 1976. The Company has now celebrated more than 30 years of continuous service.
Throughout this time, comprehensive equipment support has been
a speciality. Equipment installation may require multiple stages of intervention available from Photronics personnel, including: -
In the event of malfunction, Photronics' first and fastest avenue of correction is via
remote diagnostics while working with on-site personnel. Failing a successful outcome, on-site
attendance and repair is provided as necessary.
Our aim in product
support, is to ensure that a good product will perform to the owners satisfaction, as it was designed
to perform. This type of support is even more essential when the product
is installed away from major local support infrastructure and often in a hostile
environment.

ABOUT THE PHOTRONICS LOGO
The Photronics chunky graphic logo evolved from an
early software design of the word PHOTRONICS using the chunky rectangular pixel graphics on a Tandy TRS-80 Model 1 computer.
This design was screen dumped to a dot matrix
printer and overlaid onto a drawing of a photo memory integrated circuit
device or EPROM. (Electrically Programmed Read Only Memory)
An EPROM may be erased for reprogramming with
ultra violet light. It is a photo-electronic device and an icon representing our earliest field of speciality.
